Introducing: Lists
Lists are one of the most ubiquitous things in our modern world. We all keep lists of stuff - grocery lists, to-do lists, and some of us (like me) also keep lists of media titles they want to remember to either revisit, or to remember to try later, after hearing a recommendation somewhere.
That latter type of lists are the premise of what Aficionado is trying to help with - keep track of the media you either love or curious about.
To that end, my Scrapbook is where I usually keep the things I loved, adding more as I remember or encounter them in my life. And on my Radar is where I keep the things I'm curious to try.
But I also wanted a way to catalog (or curate?) some of my stuff with a little more rhyme and reason. For example, I made a list of the Five titles that started it all for me and another one called My Comedy Upbringing where I try to retrace the shows and movies that shaped my sense of humor, in chronological order.
The thing I like about Lists is that it expands on the initial idea of giving some personal note or context to a specific title, by allowing me to share a broader experience or idea and give the same album or book or video game a list-specific note, as I do in the example list above.
I'm curious if (and hopeful that) Lists will resonate with people and open up a more personal and creative way to share and spread the love and interest they have with the media and works that shaped and resonated with them.
